Weekend in Fresno
about 1 year ago // Comments
The wife and I are heading out to Frenso this weekend. We hopped in N6763N and headed out. We flew into Fresno Chandler (KFCH) instead of heading to Frenso International (KFAT). I prefer smaller airports; they are usually less crowded, fuel is generally less expensive, and FBO's usually don't charge ramp fee's and usage fee's. The weather was VFR and we had a head wind all the way there...

Checkout pics from a short fly-over downtown. My brother just moved back to town, so I had to take him on a quick flight to checkout the new ride. We flew the VFR corridor at 3500 ft southbound and 4500 ft northbound. The corridor takes you right over the approach end of KSAN.

We had box seats again this year; highly recommend springing for the box seats. You get to sit up on the flight line and see all the landing and takeoff action up close -- not a better seat in the house. As ...

Today took the wife upto Big Bear (L35) for lunch. Love going to this airport -- it's super clean and easy access. Heads up on the density altitude though. With an elevation of 6752 ft., adding heat to the equation is good reason to review your POH performance numbers before departing. Flight was very scenic and very ordinary (just the way I like it ;-)), was just a good day to be flying!
